Nearly 40 percent of all the energy used in the United States is used in buildings,  and buildings account for a large percentage of greenhouse gas emissions. According to CNT research, the energy consumed in buildings accounts for 70 percent of Chicago’s annual greenhouse gas emissions and 61 percent of emissions in the surrounding six-county region.  Investing in energy efficiency not only reduces energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions, it also improves comfort for building occupants and maintains high-quality building stock.

CNT Energy has worked with individuals, municipalities, regional consortia and others to deliver energy efficiency services in more than 20,000 commercial and residential buildings across the Chicago Metropolitan Region. Through the years we have developed a particular expertise in analyzing building performance in order to quantify the value of efficiency projects that result in on-going reductions in operating costs for building owners.
