Chicago Regional Energy Snapshot

The Regional Energy Snapshot is one of the strategic area addressed by GO TO 2040, the region’s first comprehensive planning effort led by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). The Regional Energy Snapshot is made up of two parts, first the Regional Energy Profile, which depicts energy consumption in the region as it is today and establishes a baseline from which to build and the Regional Energy Strategies Analysis, which assesses potential strategies that, if implemented, can reduce energy consumption across the region.
Chicago Climate Action Plan

CNT was the lead researcher for mitigation strategies of this nationally recognized climate action plan. A total of 33 strategies aimed at reducing consumption, and thus emissions, were analyzed and discussed within the following categories: framing (leadership), energy demand, energy supply, transportation mobility, transportation petroleum, transportation demand, industrial processes and products, waste and water, land cover and forestry, and cross-cutting (multiple categories.)
